I can corroborate that several northeast Mississippi families (Tishomingo, Alcorn, and Prentiss counties) moved to Hill County, TX. Some of my Sims, Harts and Harlins made that move, although not until the late 1890s. Family stories say that they took the train from Burnsville/Iuka and got off in Hillsboro, Hill County, TX. The lure was supposedly good, cheap land to raise cotton as a cash crop. The cemetery Brenda is referring to below may be New Woodbury Cemetery in Hillsboro. If anyone has connections to the Sims, Hart, and Harlin/Harlan/Harland families from northeastern Mississippi, I'd like to compare notes with you. Thanks. My Amerson's went to Hill Co. in late 1890 Figured they must have known someone there.
