    2. Brenda Whitfield
    3. Although I am certainly not new to the Tishomingo County, MS, Rootsweb email list, I am new to being the administrator of our list!! As you know, several weeks ago we had a very active discussion going on the list for a couple of weeks or so and then it slowed down. One of the reasons that it slowed was that several of your messages (as well as some of mine) "bounced" or was "being reviewed by the administrator". This was what prompted me to investigate - and therefore, now I am the new administrator. For those of you who may not know me, I am Brenda Phifer Whitfield, a native and lifelong resident of Tishomingo County. I began researching some 35+ years ago and have been active since. While I have a personal library on our county folk and am willing to share, the purpose of this list is not me - it is for all of us to share with each other. Please take the time to once again email the list with specific surnames and date ranges; I have kept several as well as our Tishomingo County Archives have, but would like to have access to all, in order to share and help to our fullest extent. Please feel free to ask questions; send a message to this list or email me personally at jbwhitifeld@e1w.com if you need. Again, this is YOUR list; let's make it work - together!! Looking forward to "hearing from you", Brenda

If he's the Daniel who was the father of your Frank M. Hughes, I think a complete search of the Hardeman county records would reveal a lot. I have a suspicion that the Daniel Hughs of 1830 Hardeman may have some relation to Daniel Hughes of Lawrence County, Tennessee who in 1823 sold 15 acres of land on Factors Fork of Shoal Creek in Wayne County, Tennessee. Our grfather was Vertis Wilson, b 1893 in Arkansas in covered wagon in route to TX. Bill's father was Billy Gene Wilson, was buried in Galveston County Tx 2003. I should have said he was the last direct male decendent in our line that I know of. Brenda Whitfield wrote: > Jackie, what connection does he have with Tishomingo county? Who was his > father? I am trying to establish the who and why of these messages; our list has been so active in the last few weeks and we don't want to see it become extinct again. Lori Thornton, State Director of Rootsweb, has been a tremendous help in advising contact information, etc. However, we must have some of the actual responses to send to Rootsweb in order to obtain help.
