Janice, I don't know about the possibility of pix of the Holloway School; am copying this message on to Emogene Cummings to see if she knows, can't remember but think she attended there; and to our genealogical society to see if we have any pix of the school. Do you have any idea of who the tin type pix are of - or what areas -or era? Our genealogical society is planning a project of submitting one to our local paper, the Vidette, each week for possible identification. Emogene, was Holloway school the one that you attended one time/ Thanks, Brenda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janice Switcher" <jacesma@bellsouth.net> To: <MSTISHOM-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 04, 2007 11:49 AM Subject: [MSTISHOM] Holloway and Watson families > Would anyone have any old pictures of Holloway School or records, and any > information on the Watson's. > > Brenda, where can I send old tin type pictures to see if anyone knows who > they are? > Janice > > > -- > I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. > It has removed 3407 spam emails to date. > Paying users do not have this message in their emails. > Get the free SPAMfighter here: http://www.spamfighter.com/len > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > MSTISHOM-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message

HI! Here are my surnames - Morris - my grandmother, Ellen Morris was b Aug 10, 1885 She & my grandfather John William (Willie) Hindman (Hindmon) married abt 1911. She was previously married to Lon Nichols - I think his family may have come from Alabama - still looking! My aunt, Carrie Ethel - who used her mother's maiden name of Morris was the poor child caught in the middle of the 2 families and not really claimed by either her birth or step father. She married Carl Huffman who was b. 1909 -- I have nothing else on his family. I have quite a bit on the Hindmans and Morris' but very little on Nichols & Huffmans. Thanks Brenda for your work in both the past and in the future:) Working on these two main families: John TURNER b. abt 1794 SC md either twice or second wife's age is incorrect on the 1850 census so either only wife or second wife is Nancy________b. abt 1823 VA - was in Tishomingo Co but cannot find on 1860 census so may have died first set of known children if there are two wives: Lucinda b. abt 1822 LA William b. abt 1828 TN Richard b. abt 1832 TN G. Henry b. abt 1833 TN Nancy b. abt 1835 TN Alfred b. abt 1838 TN children by Nancy above Louisa b. abt 1841 Tishomingo Co Alderina Evelyn b. 1 Aug 1844 Tishomingo Co. d. 29 Apr 1924 Albert b. abt 1846 Tishomingo Co. Hawkins COOPER b.abt 1806 TN d. abt 1859 TX md Susan _____ b. abt 1807 SC Hawkins is on the Itawamba Co. census for 1840 but is listed as juror and board member throughout the early 1840s in Tishomingo CO children: Malissa b, abt 1833 TN William G. b. abt 1835 TN Ralph b. abt 1837 MS Nancy b. abt 1841 MS Andrew J b. abt 1843 MS Martha b. abt 1846 AR James H b. abt 1850 AR Both of these families went to Independance Co. AR before 1850 family tradition is that the COOPERs' oldest daughter was Mary A b. abt 1830 in TN or AL who was married to John Jefferson TURNER b. abt 1820 LA most likely to be the oldest son of above TURNERs . There are several facts that support his being a son of the above John TURNER ie being born in LA in 1820 and Lucinda above was also born in LA in 1822 and the fact that John Jefferson and Mary A. had a son named Hawkins Beddex TURNER also supports the marriage between the two families. All help would be much appreciated :) Charmaine Charmaine Riley Holley familyhistorian@gmail.com
