Betsy: There's not one single Whitaker listed in the book. Sorry. Billie
Thanks for offering to do lookups. I would be interested to know if there are any Adams. Especially looking for David or John. Once again, thanks. I'm still looking for anybody with a connection to Ben J. Pinkard who is on the 1880 Tishomingo Co. census. I think his father was Jefferson Pinkard who is on the 1860 census, but not sure. Ben md. Nancy McMurray either in Tishomingo or Alabama. They md., probably, 1883 or '84. We don't have that many sources available here to check for this family, so if someone would do a look-up for that marriage. I would appreciate it. The McMurray family lived in Colbert Co., Alabama. Thank you for any help you can give. C.E.
Karen I have a line of Shook's out of Tishimingo County, MS. Joseph Jaspar Armour born c 1820 m'd Madeline Shook & they migrated to Hunt Co, Texas. I'm looking for the parents & siblings of Madeline. Both are buried at Gafford's Chapel in Hunt County. They had a daughter Mollie born 4/22/1854 who married Henry F Fry & a daughter Nancy Jane born c 1845 who married Frances Lafayette Fry, Henry's brother. Both girls were born in Tishimingo County, but the Fry families were from Alabama by way of TN & PA I'd be interested to know if we connect at all. You didn't give a time frame. Does anyone know what the earliest birth records are for Tishomingo County, where they are stored, and of course, how they can be accessed? Mary T
I wish I could attend. I would be curious to see if there is any mention of my gg grandfather JAMES C. TERRY (1824-1903). Apparently he was founder of Iuka and Burnsville, Mississippi, and a financier connected with the Mitchell & Mask enterprises. Has anyone run into his name in their research of Iuka history?
