    2. John Anderson
    3. To all descendents of gentlemen of the Union. Through genealogy we link ourselves to our ancestors. If you have linked yourself with your research to a Union veteran who served 1861-1865 that was Honorably discharged or killed and would like to join a non-profit patriotic organization to honor that ancestor, please email me at: suvduv@usit.net The book, "First Alabama Cavalry, USA-Homage to Patriotism" was written by one of our very own members. Lets keep our heritage glowing! BTW....I am also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. 3. Dear Billie, It is so kind of you to offer to do look-ups for the "First Alabama Calvary, USA-Homage to Patriotism". I am not familiar with this book. Could you tell me what years it covers. I do have ancestors who come from Alabama. Will have to do some checking to see what years they were there. Thank you for your generosity. 2. No problem. No Benicks of any spelling. Murphy is a different story. Charles Murphey, (23 when he enlisted) William M. Murphy William B. Murphy William M. Murphy/Murphree (killed 7/5/63 at Yellow Creek) William P. Murphy/Murphree James H. Murphree (44 when he enlisted - killed 12/24/63 at Jack's Creek) James M. Murphree (17 when he enlisted) James D.D. (or P. D.) Murphy/Murphree (19 when he enlisted) Joseph/John Murphree (18 when he enlisted) Joseph Murphy/Murphree (18 when he enlisted) I'm sending you the ages at time of enlistment to help you narrow down your search. If you find that any one of those might be the one you're looking for get back in touch with me and I'll send you all of the info that the book has about them. Billie
