I was given information regarding marriage of Geraldine Pace to William F. E. Asay on April 1, 1956 in Tishomingo County. I can find no records related to ASAY, however see references to ADAY in Tishomingo County. Can anyone check to see if the info I was given is a mistype? Thank you so much. Dianne Denhem

More history you know the more you are likley to find clues and makes for much better researching too. I understand that sometimes on mailing list there are post that are not connected to whom or timeline that we are researching; so deleting it is good ideal. Also, anyone whom does genealogy everyday;know that looking at any source including old newpapers and then abstracting them and sharing them with other is vital to any genealogy search. Without this sharing what would be the point of mailing list or even yet doing internet searches... > > Just my 2 cents worth... > > Crystal > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo! It really amazes me how supposedly grown adult people can get bent so out of shape over such very trivial matters. Apparently they have never faced a really serious problem in their lives. It's a shame. This is one of the best sites I have found for genealogy and history information. No matter where we look, there will be some entries in which we, as individuals, are not interested. It is quite easy to dump those, and does a disservice to all to post objections. It seems inevitable that many people feel a need to come to the defense of the material, filling everyone's mailboxes with repetitive thoughts in support of the data. For almost two weeks (and ad nauseum) I have been receiving daily e-Mails re : Corinthian Clippings. Normally, I would not waste your time on this subject, but this has gone on too long. In the interest of harmony and serious genealogy and history research, let's leave it to the fine people, who donate their time and efforts to this list, to continue providing us with as much data as they think may be useful (even if to only one person). Thank you, Jack Hurst
The Corinthian Clippings are GREAT. Who would'nt love this stuff. Hi, Tyra -- I have a George W. SHACKLEFORD, born 1849-1850 (based on census age) in MS. He was listed as age 5 months in the 1850 Tippah Co, MS census but I don't have the date of the census enumeration. He died before 18 May 1933. I don't have his wife's name but was wondering if this could be the George you mentioned. According to the info I have, this George W. SHACKLEFORD was son of John Joseph Jefferson "J.J." SHACKLEFORD and Rhoda Adeline JONES. I have only one other child's name, Margaret SHACKLEFORD, who was born 1847 (again, based on Tippah Co, MS census of 1850). The parents, J.J. & Rhoda, were married 29 September 1846. Apparently Rhoda died after having just the two children, and J.J. remarried on 13 December 1853 to Sarah "Sallie" LONG. Both marriages in Tippah Co, MS. I have 1850 for the death date of J.J.'s first wife, Rhoda. The SHACKLEFORDs are a collateral line for me -- some of the married into my TIGERT / TIGRET family -- so I don't have documentation on them, just information I've collected here and there. I am very proud to have the Corinthian Clippings come to my box,I find names of people whom have been friends and school mates to my family members.Names that i haven`t heard of for along time and then it`s nice to remember times past. Don`t be dissmayed at the cilppings, read them as you would todays newspaper and you might get a shock ,a nice one. Janice Switcher
Let say for example, you have relatives from Mississippi that you do not know much about. You searched high and low on the 1910, 1920, 1930 Census to no avail. But you know that you know your relatives did come from that area. You are frustrated. Family members tell you stories about Uncles and Aunts from Tishomingo, Mississippi. But you find no reference to their surname, because it may not be a common one in this County. Well up pops a Clipping from lets say 1965 and low and behold there is the surname with the first name, that you were told about along time ago. OOPs....Clippings do have alot to do about Genealogy. At first I bulked about the 60's clippings, now I see the importance to these little tidbits of information. Just take heart and delete them if they do not pertain to you. Perhaps one day you can Rejoice with someone else who finally came across a connection through the clippings. Diane
I love reading the Corinthian Clippings. Thanks for passing them on to us. They are great. Brenda
