    3. Larry, I am interested in the 1933 marriage resource. Is this from family info or a book? If a book, I am certainly interested. Currently, our marriage books for Tishomingo County cover up to 1922. Was one of the children from this marriage Jessie Ona Tyra who married Zolly Worth Hester? Or was Jessie a child of William Dewitt Tyra's from a previous marriage? Jessie Ona Tyra was born February 20, 1892. ???? Sarah Ann Rosetta Massey Tyra' marriage to Joseph Porter Hester was April 26, 1908. Karen

    1. [MSTISHOM-L] Re: "Sarah Ann Rosetta Massey Tyra Hester"
    2. No, I don't know the marriage location, or really any more information. I've just found that information over time in shareing information with other cousins. I'm related to Sarah Ann Rosetta Massey but related even more closely to Joseph Porter Hester. Joseph Porter Hester was the son of My Great (3rd or 4th) Aunt Jane Bolton. Sarah Ann Rosetta Massey is my 2nd Cousin Twice Removed. Sincerely, Larry W. Kelly

    1. Re: [MSTISHOM-L] Civil War Applications
    2. Thanks. We know that William Dancer, son of Samuel, died of pneumonia in 1862. Henry Dancer, son of Samuel, was discharged at age 44 because he was in bad health. Stephen Pinkney Dancer, son of Samuel, was wounded at the Battle of Gaines Mill and received a pension from Oklahoma. He was living in OK when the pensions became available. Samuel Dennis Dancer, son of Samuel, was on his way to enlist for the South when he was arrested by the Union Army. He was given a parole paper and released. He did not take up arms at all. John Dancer, son of Elijah Dancer, was killed by Jayhawkers according to what I have been able to find out. He may have been a Union sympathizer. His son William J. Dancer served in the Union Army. In 1880 the family of John Dancer was living in Henderson Co, TN. Does anyone know of a stockade in or near McNairy Co for POWs? One story says John and his two oldest boys were put in a stockade in TN. One story says John died in AR but I believe it was probably in TN. I would like to prove which it was. Elijah Jr, son of Elijah Dancer, died at Cold Harbor, VA 7 June 1864. Elisha Carl, son of Elijah, died in 1873 before the pensions were available. William Walter, son of Elijah, was a Union prisoner when the Oath of Allegiance was signed. He received a pension in 1902 in Alcorn Co. He lived 10 miles east of Corinth according to family information. Thanks, Bertie Dancer ----- Original Message ----- From: "JB WHITFIELD" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2004 8:13 PM Subject: Re: [MSTISHOM-L] Civil War Applications > No Dancer entries.
