Thanks for providing this great site. I found my ggg grandfather with 5 land patents between 1838-1843. Would someone please explain to me what these land patents were and how they differ from deeds. On one of them it shows a mutliple patent with another person. What does that mean? Thanks for any help in this regard. Kay
