DAWSON , serving in the civil war, 2nd Arkansas, Co. D.,Shaver's Regt., wrote a letter home saying he had seen cousin Jehew Smith in Shreveport and that he was in Walker's Regt. Does anyone know about this SMITH family? Is cousin Jehew the same Jehu who was in 1850 Tippah Co.? Does anyone know how the SMITHs were related to the DAWSONs?
