In the 1820 KY Census it appears that there are the following Champion families in KY (most likely all related to the Edgecombe/Halifax County NC Champions - although I do not know for sure)- Livingston County: James Champion aged 45+ Drury Champion (listed as Laurry) aged 45+ Mary Champion aged 45+ William Champion aged 45+ Willis Champion, Sr. aged 45+ Caldwell County: Thomas Champion aged 26-45 Washington County: Nancy Champion aged 45+ Woodford County: Edward Champion aged 45+ In the 1830 TN Census the following Champion families exist in Hardeman County: Drury Champion aged 60-69 William Champion aged 40-49 I am fairly confident that these Hardeman County Champions are from the same Champion families from KY listed above given the unusual but common name Drury. Additionally, my GGGGrandfather James M. Champion (who was born in Livingston County, KY around 1808) married his wife Parthena H. Anderson on October 2, 1833 in Hardeman County, TN. [They later moved to Tippah County, MS and raised their family of 8 children; William Henry Champion, Elliard D. Champion, Nancy H. Champion, Leander M. Champion, Sarah Leota Champion, Thomas Hardeman Champion, James Greeley Champion (my GGGrandfather), and Amanda Adaline Champion]. I would like to determine which adult Champions emigrated from KY to TN around 1825 and of these adults, whcih one had a son (or nephew for that matter) that traveled with them named James H Champion. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
