They were both born somewhere in Mississippi in the 1860s I think. They moved to Wilbarger TX and later to Red River Township, OK. They had twins Eppie and Effie L, among other children. Effie L Swan was my great grandmother who married William Charles Wallace and they lived in Frederick OK. My great great grandfather was also called "Jack" for whatever reason. The swans were supposedly Cherokee. The census says they are from Mississippi.
