    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iJB.2ACE/594 Message Board Post: The 1850 Mississippi Mortality Schedule has the following: Tippah Co.: "CARTER, JOHN W. died Jan. 1850, age 11 years, born in MS." Does anyone know the parents of this John W. Carter? My ancestors JAMES CARTER and SALINA R. DEAN lived in Tippah Co. MS from about 1838 to about 1851. Before moving to Tippah Co., they had a son William L. born 1837 in Hardeman Co., TN. As far as any other records say, they did not have another child until 1841 when their son Robert M. was born in Tippah Co. His date of birth is consistent in every census. However, the 1840 census indicates they had two sons as of 1840. If this John W. Carter was their son, it would explain why the 1840 census said they had two sons as of 1840. John W. Carter died in January 1850, which occurred before the census was taken in Tippah County that year. Any information appreciated. S. M. Hitt [email protected]
