Surnames: ROGERS, TAYLOR Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iJB.2ACE/592.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Well, it's that name that interests me. I did a bit of further digging, and it appears Argyle Rogers was a son of Bailey and Lucinda Rogers. Though the couple's son Argyle was born in MS, at least the oldest child was born in AL. The family then removed to Fayette Co. TN for a period, then on to Tippah Co. MS. My antennae went up because of my interest in locating descendant families of Argyle Taylor (b. perhaps 1782 or so - d. 1823 in Franklin Co. AL). As Franklin Co. AL is a fully burned county for the period Argyle Taylor was there (and for another 50 years), I have had to use alternate methods for tracking his kids --all of whom would have been expected to perhaps use the name Argyle in their children list. Though Bailey Roger's wife Lucinda is said to have possibly been a Ramsey, I remain interested in the idea that the Argyle Taylor name may have descended into this family as a result of blood connection to Argyle Taylor. --Carl
