Hey Ya'll, Here's a new page on Ripley, let me know if it has problems loading. If you have photographs to send it that would be useful to Tippah researchers, send them in. The memories section is coming along nicely. Thanks to all for helping in this project. I still would like to have really old photographs of schools, school children, gatherings, churches and buildings in Tippah. So...if you make to Tippah during the holiday season ask about old photos, I know that they are around somewhere. Probably in someones attic in a box.... I have a question. My great aunt, Mary Josephine MCKINNEY MCALLISTER(McAllister?) was married to A H McAllister and he was a Dentist in Blue Mountain, MS. They married November 22, 1868, where? Albert Broadus Holley McAllister was born September 17, 1845 in MS. He died July 28, 1921. Aunt Josie was born December 10, 1847, Lincoln Co., TN. She died June 1, 1847. They both died at Blue Mountain, Tippah Co., MS, and both are buried at McAllister Cemetery, Union Co., MS. I've been told a stone was made and placed for her at a cemetery in Tippah Co. My aunt, Berlin McKinney Carter, told me how Aunt Josie met Albert McAllister. It seems he served in the Confederacy with two of Josie's brothers. My grandad, John (J J) McKinney and William Henry McKinney. When the war was over Albert came "home" with the McKinney boys and met Josie. I don't know where home was at that time. Can anyone help me? The McKinney family was still in Lincoln Co., TN for the 1860 census. They were in Hill Co., TX by 1867 where the mother, Elizabeth McKinney and her son, William Henry McKinney are each buying land. The father, H William McKinney died in the summer of 1867, and I don't know where on this one either! I appreciate any help you can give me.
