Daily Corinthian Newspaper, Corinth, Mississippi Feb. 9, 1971 John Matthias Rainey, 91, of Rt. 3, Walnut, died today at 4:15 a.m. at Magnolia Hospital after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer. Born in Alcorn Co., Rainey was a member of the Theo Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted Wed., at 1 p.m. at Coleman Memorial Chapel with Marvin Rainey and Ron Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Oaks Hill Cemetery. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lillian McAnnally Rainey; a son, Harmon Rainey of Corinth; 2 daughters, Mrs. Conner Dillingham and Mrs. Jeff Derrick, both of Walnut; a brother, Lloyd Rainey of Corinth; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The body will remain at Coleman Funeral Home.
