>I am looking for help and information on my 4th Great Grandfather, Bradacus >C. Gallion and his family. Bradacus C. Gallion was born abt. 1805 in >Tennessee, and had lived in Tippah County, Mississippi between 1850-60. > >Bradacus' wife Miriam Gallion is buried somewhere in Tippah County, >Mississippi and I would like to find out what cemetery she is in. Since you are on the list I assume you know about the Tippah Co. MSGenWeb page. There are links from it to the Benton Co. page as well. Apparently you Gallion family lived in the part of Tippah County that became Benton in 1870. I found this in the Benton Co. Cemeteries which is online: Gallion, Miriam, , 05 Mar 1858, Pine Grove Baptist, age 48 wife of B. C. She is buried in Benton Co. in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery. >I was told that there was a land transaction dated 1857 between Bradacus C. >Gallion and another party. I would like to find this. This you will probably have to visit the Tippah Co. courthouse for. >Their son Jacob Gallion had a probate record of his estate in Tippah >County, Mississippi. This is said to list my 3rd Great Grandmother, Mary >Rainey. I would like to find this. If the death occurred before 1870 it would be in the Tippah Co. courthouse, after 1870 in the Ashland Courthouse. Benton Co. marriages are not online. I found this one in the Tippah Co. records which are online: GALLION, Jonas GRAY, Elizabeth A Oct 12 1858 1 17 G It is in Book 1 Page 17 at the Tippah Co. courthouse in Ripley. >Also, any marriage, death, cemetery records, etc... The Tippah Co. Death Notices book is online on the Tippah Co. page but I find no Gallions in it. I have a search engine on The Tippah Co. Confederate Page http://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw/ and find a John M. Gallion served in Co. A 2nd Miss. Infantry. There is a link there to another 2nd Miss. page and you can find John's service records online there. The above search engine has a pull down menu where you can pick the Tippah Co. Page to search. The Only Gallion I find there is the Marriage I mentioned above. Good luck. Fred
