Thomas was born in NC and lived in or near Spartanburg, SC, from at least 1800 until 1825 when he moved to Franklin Co. AL. According to family lore, he had a son James who went to MS. All I know about James is that he would have been born in SC and would have probably been in his 50s in 1870. I know from a letter that my Grishams had relatives in Tippah Co. in 1854 but don't know who.
