    3. Sue, Thank you so much for answering my query. I have some information on Jesse and Mary Black Shands that you might not have. I have that Jesse and Mary moved to TN in 1862, to Johnson Co, IL in 1864 and by Dec 1865 they were in Stoddard Co, MS. I can't help you with a connection between Mary BLack and the Howell family but a son David Thomas married Mary Jane Howell on 28 Jan 1891 in Stoddard Co and a daughter Mary Catherine married Benjamin Howell on 24 Apr 1898 also in Stoddard Co.
