Newsom Yopp married my g-g-grandfather, William Lafayette Luna. He was born in Alabama in 1829, in 1831-32 moved to Hardeman Co., TN and then moved to Tippah Co., MS with his parents and grandparents. He married Mary in 1867 in Tippah Co. I understand she had previously been married to a Jerry Yopp. Mr. Yopp was killed by Indians while Mary and her young daughter, Nannie, watched from a corn field. Could our Newsom's be related?
