Looking at the Tippah County Census records, 1850 thru 1870, Newton had a different wife each census year. There is a Tippah Marriage Record for a N. J. Moore and Sallie M. Moody, 15 August 1872 (Bk 3, pg 204). In the 1880 Tippah Census Newton is not listed, but Sarah M. Moore is and she has two small children, Carrie E. and Henry A. Also in the 1880 Census, G. Washington (74) and Lucy (70) are living with Wesley Moore, one of Newton's older sons by his first marriage. Hope this helps. Charlotte
