Greenberry Waldrop and his family were in Catalua, Georgia, Harris County before he left to travel thru Alabama and setteled in DeSota County, Alabama. I read where Greenberry and wife were buried in Eavenson's Cemetery. I wondeer if that is the same Eavenson that was in Harris County the same times as the Waldrops were. (Evenson in the General History of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Rehoboth Baptist Church was first located about one and a quarter miles below Cataula, ON March 10, 1839, the church was in "conference set", The Rev. George Grnberry was the minister. It is thought that the church was in existence before that date, but the other ministers are not knwn. It is thought that the Grandberry family gave four acres of land fo rthe orginal site. The chuch cemtery is there, but the schurch has been moved to Cataula. In the first conference a letter was granted to sister Dinah, " a woman of colour, the property of the Rev. B.B. Buchannan." Mr. V. A. Hill was clerk. In November 17, 1939, the Rev. George G. Granberry , Hiram McCullers, ** Willis Evenson** were delegtes to Columbus, Georgia Association. The following fromed a presbytery , viz: James Perryman, Wm. Henderson, ** G. B. Waldrop" , Cary Willis, Anderson Smith, and Robert Fleming, Brother and Sister McKinley were demissed by letter. I have a partical list of members from the entry April 30. 1842 if anyone is interested in me checking to see if their ancestors might have been in Georgia around the same time as Greenberry Waldrop and his family..before moved to Alabama and Mississippi. I'll be glad to check the page. Greenberry's granddaughter Georgia Ann Elizabeth Waldrop daughter of Joseph Ryan Waldrop....married Thomas Jefferson Higginbottom.
