I have looked at GHOATS but was unable to find the complete Belote history you referred to but did find a writing about Hancock Belote and his wife Abigal Walter and descendants. It looks like there must have been Hancocks in the family. I'm sure you know my 2 gg-grandfather, Smith Belote, was a brother of Clement Belote, your direct ancestor.
