There was a William Tom Ratliff (1846-1912) who married Elizabeth Angeline "Angie" Hawthorne (1839-1922) in Tippah County in 1868. Both Tom and Angie are buried Academy Cemetery 7 mi. S of Ripley, MS, on Pontotoc Rd. There children were: Dora Lee Ratliff Bessie W. Ratliff Charles Thomas Ratliff Arkie Tecora Ratliff John Edgar (Ed) Ratliff Ella M. Ratliff Joe Frank Ratliff Bubber Ratliff I would assume that your Paul Hawthorne Ratlif was a son of either Charles, Ed, or Joe Frank. (Bubber died in infancy.) I don't have much on the Ratliff line, however, I have a huge file on the Hawthorne line as well as most of the connected maternal lines.
