Hi, Jim -- I checked my database and have no Howard Levi SMITH (1883-1941) or Mary E. GAILLARD (1887-1970) -- but see below. I do list a Levi C. ALDRIDGE who married Sallie J. WALLACE Feb. 14, 1883, Tippah Co, MS. Sallie was b. May 25, 1852 and died Jan. 31, 1926, possibly in Tippah, but I don't have that info. They had daughters Ethel and Mattie. Ethel m. Washington Dudley TIGERT, Dec. 25, 1902 and I have 5 children listed for them: Washington Dudley, James, Elizabeth, William and Jamie May. Ethel's husband was my 2nd cousin twice removed. There are other connections among GAILLARD/TIGERT/WALLACE surnames. I have listed a Charles "Charlie" GAILLARD, b. ca. 1851 & d. 1926, who married (1) Sallie WALLACE, about 1879. I have 7 children listed for them, one is a daughter whose name I don't have but I show her husband as "H.L. SMITH" so this just may be the one you're looking for. The timing would be about right. Unfortunately, I don't have any children listed for them, nor do I know who his parents were. I feel sure this is your family. Other children for Charlie GAILLARD & Sallie WALLACE were: Richard Franklin; Jim; Hardy; Sarah Pearl "Sallie;" Benjamin; and Dan. Richard married "E. UNKNOWN" and they had a son Frank P. born & died on Sep. 13, 1901. No further on them. Jim, b. Mar 5, 1882; d. Feb. 16, 1937 and buried at Wier's Chapel Cem, Tippah Co, MS. He had a son named Robert who d. Jul 19, 1921, Tippah and was bur. at Wier's Chapel, too. Wife's name not known to me. Hardy GAILLARD, b. ca. 1883; d. May 26, 1928, Tippah Co, MS; m. Jennie UNKNOWN. I have no children's names for them. Sarah Pearl "Sallie" GAILLARD, b. Feb. 4, 1889; d. Feb. 9, 1917, and buried at Wier's Chapel Cem, Tippah Co, MS. Sallie married Jesse Hugh TIGRET (same family as TIGERT, above; they all spelled it differently). Jesse Hugh was a son of William Thomas "Tommie" TIGRET and Mary Ann "Annie" SHACKLEFORD. I don't hae Sallie & Jesse's marriage date or any children listed. Benjamin was b. May 17, 1876 (date on his tombstone); d. April 26, 1949, and is buried at Wier's Chapel, Cem, Tippah Co, MS. I have no wife or children listed for him. Dan married Unknown HALL, dau. of John Wash HALL & Anna Eliza UNKNOWN. I have no furhter info on this couple. A little on the wife's family, as follows: Anna Eliza UNKNOWN was b. ca. 1873 and died Feb. 12, 1935, Tippah Co, MS, age 62. She was buried in New York Cem, Tippah Co, MS. Ch. of John Wash HALL & Annie Eliza were: Alvie, Clyde, Dorie, and two daughters whose names I don't have. One of the unnamed daughters m. Dan GAILLARD; the other m. Robert "Rob" CLARK. Charlie GAILLARD remarried about 1875 to (2) (Mrs.) Lucy ROWELL and they had Earnest; Lou; Onie; Russell; Sammie; Earl Leander. That's all I have on the GAILLARD family.
