Can anyone provide >infor on what group he served with during the war? Yes, Cpl. William Henry Foote Jr. was in Co. F (Magnolia Guards) 2nd MS Infantry. Visit the Tippah County Confederate pages at http://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw The list also says he was born in 1843 and died 1914 and is buried in Blue Mt. Cemetery. If you have others you can use the search engine on the main page near the bottom to search for a name. If you can't find them there use the link to the Soldiers and Sailors page to search from them there. If you have a picture or a biography of him I will be glad to put them online. Also there is a new researchers page where you can enter his name your name and email address so that someone researching you line can make contact with you. If you know what he looks like go to the page with the picture of the 1904 Confederate reunion since he was alive then. My guess is he was there but I don't recall seeing a one arm man in the picture. Good luck.
