I am researching the Richard and Sophia Gibson Smith family that moved to Tippah co. ms from Caswell County, North Carolina around 1840. Their son, Alvis C. Smith married Mary B. Belote, d/o Smith Cutler and Nancy Gill Belote. Later he married her sister, Margharet C. Smith. The older Smith family died in Tippah/Benton co. Ms and buried in the Blackjack Cem., in Benton co.
