I have been researching the Tippah Co. Website for my family. I saw your post and this is something that I found: M. A. Allen married J. D. Pugh in 1863 found in marriage records Tippah Co. L. S. Allen died July 1869 age 64 born and married SC found this in the death notices of Tippah County. Apparently a mortage was due on property in 1870.
