He bought 1/4 of a section adjacent to Gideon Shands and also married Gideon's daughter. He two brothers - John and possibly Thomas. He died about 1884 and was buried in the county cemetery between Marlow and Walnut. The family left soon after his death for Texas. All I know about Willliam Perkins is what I have been able to get from census records.     3. I sure wish I knew where Jesse Mercer Perkins got his name. I have also thought Mercer might be his Mother's name but I have been unable to find anything on his parents. It is believed his Mother's maiden name might have been Brown. We do not believe his parents came to Tippah Co.
