John Henry died 1929 leaving Emma Jane a widow until her death in 1944. Our understanding is that Sterling Price was her Great Uncle but we have no proof of any relationship. Heresy is that she was born and raised in or around Warren, Arkansas. Here again we have no concrete proof. We do know that she died Tippah County Mississippi.

William M. was son of Miles (Myhill) SMITH & Judith UNKNOWN -- Miles (Myhill) was born 11 April 1769 in Brunswick Co, VA and died 11 Sep 1847 in York Co, SC. I know that Wallace's dad was Sanford Smith and his mother was Liza Jane Potter (who was also supposed to have indian blood), but that is about all the info I have on this side of my family. I've got info back to Moses Pernell and his wife, Jane D. Walker (of Chester District, SC). It says they apparently died on the same day in 1843. Does any of this match up with what you've been able to find? I haven't been able to find Moses's dad. I've seen reference to a Cety Pernell, who is about the right age to be his father, as well as a Benjamin and William Pernell. Also in Chester District. But I haven't been able to nail that down. I'm also wondering where the original family came from--England, Ireland, Scotland? Anyway, if you have anything it'd be great to hear from you. Hope all is well your way. Best, Dave Pernell

A guesstimated birthdate for this Wallace SMITH would be ca. 1781. I'm wondering if he might possibly connect with your family since you mentioned a Wallace SMITH in Tippah Co, MS.
