    2. I wish someone out there could help me find out about Eliza E. Carter who married James Thomas Childers. They married Jan. 8,1888. In Tippah county. Had 3 children , when the youngest was still just a toddler James took the 3 kids and moved to Ellis county, Texas. I read that she had moved to Woodville, Wilkinson county,Ms. and most likely died there. But not certain of this .........If anyone knows of her or anything about her please e mail me. He died in Texas and is buried around Lubbock ,Tx. Thanks.

    3. Sue, Thank you so much for answering my query. I have some information on Jesse and Mary Black Shands that you might not have. I have that Jesse and Mary moved to TN in 1862, to Johnson Co, IL in 1864 and by Dec 1865 they were in Stoddard Co, MS. I can't help you with a connection between Mary BLack and the Howell family but a son David Thomas married Mary Jane Howell on 28 Jan 1891 in Stoddard Co and a daughter Mary Catherine married Benjamin Howell on 24 Apr 1898 also in Stoddard Co.     3. I can help with Gideon Shands' son Jesse and his family. I am not a descendant but have been trying to connect Jesse's wife's family to my Howell family. Jesse S. Shands married Mary Catherine Black in Tippah Co. MS 17 January 1861. They were in Stoddard Co. MO before 1870. Jesse died in Stoddard Co. 20 February 1905.
