    3. I'm not actually related to Mike COX, but if we are talking about the same man, and I think we are, then I have a "by-marriage" connection. Unfortunately, I don't have any more information than you do on Mike himself, but I wanted to touch base with you. Here's the inforrmation I have: Mike COX, b. 1796 in Ireland; died 1910. I have a note that he was one of the earliest settlers in Tippah County and he lived in Orizaba, Tippah Co, MS. Mike Cox came to Orizaba upon moving from Franklin Co, GA in 1839. Here is an early MS census record which I think is his family. Can you tell me if it is? 1. [MSTIPPAH-L] Cox Family
    2. My greatgrandfather was Mike Cox of Tippah County. He died in 1910 and was the oldest man in the county at 114 years old. He married Martha Geno Crawford in 1863. Mike Cox is mentioned in the Tippah County Heritage Book Volume 2. Does anyone know when and how he immigrated to the US from Ireland? The heritage book mentions he took a sailing packet from England but gives no other details on the dates or port of entry. Any information would be appreciated.

    1. [MSTIPPAH-L] VIRUS
    2. Joan Marie Meyering
    3. Yes, I have received a note from the same Charles Rainey, and now from a Shirley Jennings which I believe contained viruses. I decided several months ago that the clue to whether it contains the virus/worm or not is the phrase "take a look to the attachment" - it is kind of awkward wording if you think about it. I have received several with that and have not opened any since the first one. Maybe instead of sending the info as attachments we need to just incorporate it in the letter itself. Wouldn't that solve it - I hope! Joan Marie in Oregon

    2. I received a note from Charles Rainey about my gggrandmother Frances Elizabeth Sales Kimbrough who died near Ripley, Tippah Co., June 14, 1879. He sent me an attachment that I think may have listed her in one of the Tippah Co. cemeteries, but unfortunately the attachment had a virus in it and my virus scan wouldn't let me open it. I would be very grateful if anyone has this information and could let me know where to get it. Thanks! A.C. Quinn

    2. Brad Campbell
    3. Dear fellow listers, Brad Campbell here. I did indeed have a virus in my system that affected the posts I had made on the Tippah County list last week. I had no idea the bug was there until it was too late. The problem has been fixed, and I am terribly sorry for any problem it may have caused any of you. Sincerely-- Brad Researching these names in North Mississippi: Campbell, Crump, Drewry/Drury, Farrar, Nanney, Powell, Price, Ray, Sanders/Saunders, etc.

    1. [MSTIPPAH-L] HELP NEEDED RE WATSON & HARBIN
    2. Joan Marie Meyering
    3. Please, I need help re the above family in Blue Mountain in Tippah County in 1880, and in a broader sense regarding the HARBIN family. Nathaniel S. WATSON & Elizabeth HARBIN were m in 1859 in Tippah Co. In 1860 they had a child Effie b in TN (according to the 1880 census). By 1880 they were back in Blue Mountain, Tippah w/ her mother in their home Mrs. Judas HARBIN. I would like to know anything about the HARBIN line - e.g. were her parents' names on the m license, is there an obit for her mother (she was 86 in 1880). I would think a name like Judas should stand out like a sore thumb but I have not been able to find any references to Judas except in his father's estate settlement in 1852. Thank you for your interest & help. I am a long ways from you! Joan Marie way out in Oregon
