She was daughter of David Burleson Sr. who died in Rutherford Co, TN in 1832. I have lots of history on the Burleson family but not as much on Rowland. Eleanor Burleson's sister Sarah married Sherwood Rowland but continued to live in NC. William Rowland was born 28 Aug 1785 and died 16 Mar 1886. Eleanor was born 1 Jan 1789 and died 9 April 1870. I haven't traced the Turrentine family although I believe there is some data published, and I have a copy of one drawn ped chart that mentions the Turrentine name; I will have to hunt for it to tell you more. I have David Burleson listed as born 24 Dec 1811 and his son William Turrentine Burleson Rowland as born abt 1838 m. Nannie? Green and Eleanor? Joyner. I didn't have any reference to Mary Jane Williams. Please correct me if I am wrong. Did W.T. stay in Tippah Co? I will be happy to help you as much as I c! an.

There was a William Tom Ratliff (1846-1912) who married Elizabeth Angeline "Angie" Hawthorne (1839-1922) in Tippah County in 1868. Both Tom and Angie are buried Academy Cemetery 7 mi. S of Ripley, MS, on Pontotoc Rd. There children were: Dora Lee Ratliff Bessie W. Ratliff Charles Thomas Ratliff Arkie Tecora Ratliff John Edgar (Ed) Ratliff Ella M. Ratliff Joe Frank Ratliff Bubber Ratliff I would assume that your Paul Hawthorne Ratlif was a son of either Charles, Ed, or Joe Frank. (Bubber died in infancy.) If you can make a connection to any of these I will be happy to provide you with copies of my files. I don't have much on the Ratliff line, however, I have a huge file on the Hawthorne line as well as most of the connected maternal lines. You can use this page to let others know the soldier you are researching and see who else is researching the same man. It is a good way to make contact with others working on your line.
