She was born in 1906 and died 1961. I see no family connection to Miss Roberson. I origanly found this obit in with my grandmother's things so my guess is they were friends. My Grandmother was Mary Ethel Johnson born 1911 in Tippah Co. Later moving to Vermilion Co IL and married Amos Breezely.

Frances Ann ROWLAND b10 Feb 1839 MS m(1867) James W. RUTLEDGE b20 May 1813 TN Mary Isabell ROWLAND b19 Aug 1853 m(1873) Matthew McCALL b1850 I'd just like to know parents' names, and whether the two were related. Thanks, Chandra

I failed to give the link to the death notices I sent out the announcement about. The url for the Death Notices is http://www.rootsweb.com/~mstippah/notices/DeathA-C.htm I was also asked how to get to the Tippah Co. Page. The URL is http://www.rootsweb.com/~mstippah. The URL for the Tippah County Confederate is http://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw There is are links on the main Tippah Co. page to the death notices and to the Tippah Co. Confederate. Good luck in your search. Fred _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
Both volumes of the Tippah County Death Notices are now online. Together they cover the county's first one hundred years. They have been sorted together to make searching easier. Use the search feature of your browser to search for names other than the primary names. This can probably be done by typing Ctrl F, at least it can be using Internet Explorer and Netscape. I have also been doing a lot of work on the Tippah County Confederate pages. Many entries have been updated and a good many soldiers added to the Soldiers buried in Tippah County page. There are also two new old marriages bringing the total to 180 marriages that have been reconstructed. Search your records and submit any marriages prior to July 1858 that occurred in Tippah County. His father Sam born Tenn. Nellie and Abner must have married after the civil war. He enlisted in Capt.Calvit Robert's Co. Artillery in Sept. 1861, At Bay St. Louis. One son Samuel married in Tippah Co. Miss. in 1885. What makes it so hard in tracing Nellie is I have two last names for her. My grandmother's delayed birth has Nellie Mullins as her mother. Family of one of her sisters has said the name was Nellie Robinson.Since I have not seen written proof of this I am looking at Mullins as the last name.

I have spent 20 years researching the Hawthorn Family and since Elizabeth Angeline "Angie" Hawthorne was my 3G grandfather's sister I just happen to have way more information on this line than you probably even want. By the by, your Charles Thomas Ratliff was first married to Sally M. Guyton (11/10/1873 - 8/7/1903) before he married her cousin Annie Laurie Rogers. Drop me a note directly and I'll send you a GEDCOM file that will cover the Hawthornes, Ratliff, and Rogers families. Regards, Fred Hawthorne
