    1. [MSTIPPAH-L] Re: Louis RENFROE m. Nancy EMBREY
    2. Becky Smith
    3. Hi, Betty -- I have no further information on this man, but I have the name of Louis RENFROE who married in Tippah Co, MS to Nancy SEARGENT (Nancy prob. born in early 1830s). Nancy was a daughter of James SEARGENT and Mary Fanny EMBREY who were married in 1824 in Franklin Co, TN. Nancy's siblings were: John L., Elizabeth, Martha Jane, James R., William Blake, Lucindia Caroline, Nathaniel, Mary Ella "Polly," and Temperance, according to the information I have (which I have not proven). I have spouses names for some of these children, but not all. They're a collateral line to my EMBREYs, so I haven't done any research on them. Maybe there's a clue here for you or someone. Becky Smith

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iJB.2ACE/658 Message Board Post: It appears to me that messages written to the Tippah Co. board are gatewayed to the [email protected] list but message written to the list are not posted on the Tippah Co. board. This means someone can write a message to the board, a member of the list would respond, but the one who posted the query would not see it because it goes to the list only. I have written messages about updates to my Tippah Co. Confederate site and they are not listed here so it is very possible that users of the board do not know about it or the Tippah Co. MSGenWeb page. The URL for the Tippah Co. MSGenWeb page is http://www.rootsweb.com/~mstippah The URL for the Tippah Co. Confederate pages is http://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw. You can do a lot of Tippah Co. researce from these pages. If you haven't been there please check them out. I am always added new information to the Confederate pages. A lot of times it isn't easy to tell what changes have been made because it may just be biographical infomation on a soldier on a regimental list. I have recently added three new pictures of Confederates and a couple of biographies. I am always looking for new information to put online. If you have anything to submit please email me. If you are researching a Tippah Co. Confederate there is a page for you to add this information. Hopefully it will help you make a new contact with others working on your line. Fred

    1. Re: [MSTIPPAH-L] Re: Kerr Family
    2. Pam, My husband has a Karr/Carr connection in Tishomingo County, MS. William and Elizabeth Karr/Kerr/Carr had four children: Emma, Clarissa, Monroe, and Martha. Emma married a Williams man and had two sons: Charles and Clarke Williams. Apparently both Charles and Clarke were attorneys in Birmingham, Alabama. She lived in Iuka, MS. Clarissa married Thomas D. Monroe (our line). They lived in Alabama for a while, before moving west. Thomas Monroe was a lawyer and a doctor in Indian Territory. He and Clarissa are both buried in Murray County, Oklahoma. Monroe was born in about 1850/51. Nothing else known about him. Martha was born about 1854. Nothing else is known about her. I don't know if any of this helps you at all or not. Good luck! Don't know why I hadn't thought of this before, but last night I looked in an old Bible and my mom had put in some of James Jr's siblings names. However, I am sure it is an incomplete list and some names are incomplete. I knew Rebecca's name and some of the children. I would like to see what you have. By the way, my grandfather was Allen Tolbert (married Minnie Emerald Pierce in Newlin, Texas in 1910, I think, without looking it up). I'd also like to know when they left MS for TX. Do you know of any civil war participation. Looks like they were all either too old or too young. Maybe William Harrison. Thanks for all, and you can e-mail me if you'd rather. Do you
