Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iJB.2ACE/684.1 Message Board Post: I'm afraid I don't have an answer, just interesting possibilities. My gg-grandfather was Nathan E. Davis, living in Tippah in 1850 with his family. Nathan had a brother William, so it is a possible family name. The part that grabbed my attention was the move to Dyersburg, TN. In 1851, Nathan died. His younger children moved to Dyer Co., TN to live with relatives. Dyersburg is the county seat of Dyer. No hard facts, just interesting information. Miller Taylor

    2. I have just come into possession of the subject college year book and will scan and send (via TIF or JPEG format) the page containing a person's picture or the listing of their name to whomever request them. This book is not indexed and I do not have the time to go through each page searching for someone that "just may" have attended this school in the 1934-35 school year so please don't ask me to do this type search. I would also request that you provide any dates that may help me to determine what graduating class the person may have been in. There is no need to tie up ROOTSWEB space with your request for lookups so please direct them directly to me at the following address Regards, Fred Hawthorne [email protected] or [email protected] "Oh Lord, give me patience...and GIVE IT TO ME NOW!"

    2. Sandra W. Doolittle
    3. Carleen, Thank you so very much. This the first Joseph R. Waldrop who married Isabella Boyd in 1850 in Waterloo , South Carolina, Lauren County. I knew he had moved to Akansas and died there. I had heard that from the Pinson, but I never knew where. To balance it this Joseph R. Waldrop is still married to Isabella of South Carolina the same Isabella he was married to in the 1850 census. I am not sure this is my JRW-he was the number one on my list but, I have information that has led away from him. I will keep him on file, goodness knows my grandpapa Joseph Ryan Waldrop was married to just about every woman he met, including my great grandmother....and he married some while married to others. The reason I claimed this JRW, my aunt the granddaughter of JRW, said her grandpapa left Miss issippi to go and live with relatives in Waterloo. I looked up Waterloo and found JRW...now I know there is a Waterloo in Mississppi also. Thanks again. Sandra Sandra Waldrop Doolittle [email protected] wrote: >I found these in Arkansas. I also have a number of JM Morgan individuals but in the same category..no marriage to a Petty. I did locate though, a Pettie married to a Parks and this was back in Rowan County North Carolina. Geographical movement found these families in close proximity often...perhaps there was a Petty in Mississippi but I do not have that record. I will keep it in question pool and contact you should I find anything. Good luck. Julie P Morgan

I don't think they were married. There is not a Month and day next to the Year. His brother Jessie Petty is listed with Eliza Ann Morgan Married Jun 27 1880 G. His sister Martha is listed with JT Epperson married Sep 17 1876. The majority of listings have Months and a day. Very few list no Month and day. Can anyone tell me if my theory is correct. Later Susan Bock is listed with JM Morgan married Nov 22 1878 possibly Eliza Ann's Brother or no relation. Jeptha is listed on the 1870 Tippah County, MS census with Martha Ellis and Martha's mother Harriet Ellis. Marriage records show a Martha Ellis married to GW Sanders Jun 22 1862 1 339 B. Are there any death records or divorce records for a GW Sanders. Wondering if this is the same Martha Ellis Jeptha was married to. They eventually had at least 7 children of which would be my grandfather Joseph S b. abt 1877. I would a! ppreciate any help anyone can give to me! Thank you. Dolores

    1. [MSTIPPAH-L] JOHN W. CARTER, b.1838-39, d.1850 Tippah Co.: PARENTS?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iJB.2ACE/680 Message Board Post: The 1850 Mississippi Mortality Schedule has the following: Tippah Co., "CARTER, JOHN W. died Jan. 1850, age 11 years, born in MS." Does anyone know the parents of this JOHN W. CARTER? I am trying to find out if my Carter/Dean ancestors were his parents. My ancestors JAMES CARTER and wife SALINA ROXANNA DEAN lived in Tippah Co. MS from about 1838 to about 1851. Before moving to Tippah Co., they had a son WILLIAM L. CARTER born 1837 in Hardeman Co., TN. As far as any other records say, they did not have another child until 1841 when their son ROBERT M. CARTER was born in Tippah Co. MS. Robert's date of birth is consistently 1841 in every census. However, the 1840 census indicates that parents JAMES and SALINA had two sons as of 1840. If this JOHN W. CARTER named in the mortality schedule was their son, it would explain why the 1840 census said they had two sons as of 1840 (since son ROBERT was not born until 1841). The mortality schedule says JOHN W. CARTER died in January 1850, thus occurring before the census was taken in Tippah County that year. That would explain why he was not named with JAMES and SALINA that year, if he was their son but had passed away earlier in the year. Any information appreciated. email: [email protected]

    3. Yes there are still some Davis descendants in Tippah County. I descend from James Daniel Davis and Laura Ann Jobe. James' father was Elisha D. Davis and Hannah Jane Measles. The most knowledgeable person in Tippah County is Virginia Wood, but she is in very bad health and in her 80's. She wrote a story on Elisha Green in Tippah County HEritage Volume II. William Clark was born 1832/33, Anderson Co, SC and moved with his family to MS in about 1848. His parents were Fenton B. HALL and Ruth Ann CLARK who lived in Tishomingo (later Alcorn) County, MS. I have no further information on Penelope PERRY. William & Penelope MAY have moved to Texas. Thanks in advance for any possible help! --Becky
