Hi, I believe Douglas and Paul's sister's name was Martha Jo. I have a question. My great aunt, Mary Josephine MCKINNEY MCALLISTER(McAllister?) was married to A H McAllister and he was a Dentist in Blue Mountain, MS. They married November 22, 1868, where? Albert Broadus Holley McAllister was born September 17, 1845 in MS. He died July 28, 1921. Aunt Josie was born December 10, 1847, Lincoln Co., TN. She died June 1, 1847. They both died at Blue Mountain, Tippah Co., MS, and both are buried at McAllister Cemetery, Union Co., MS. I've been told a stone was made and placed for her at a cemetery in Tippah Co. My aunt, Berlin McKinney Carter, told me how Aunt Josie met Albert McAllister. It seems he served in the Confederacy with two of Josie's brothers. My grandad, John (J J) McKinney and William Henry McKinney. When the war was over Albert came "home" with the McKinney boys and met Josie. I don't know where home was at that time. Can anyone help me? The McKinney family was still in Lincoln Co., TN for the 1860 census. They were in Hill Co., TX by 1867 where the mother, Elizabeth McKinney and her son, William Henry McKinney are each buying land. The father, H William McKinney died in the summer of 1867, and I don't know where on this one either! I appreciate any help you can give me. Hey Ya'll, Here's a new page on Ripley, let me know if it has problems loading. If you have photographs to send it that would be useful to Tippah researchers, send them in. The memories section is coming along nicely. Thanks to all for helping in this project. I still would like to have really old photographs of schools, school children, gatherings, churches and buildings in Tippah. So...if you make to Tippah during the holiday season ask about old photos, I know that they are around somewhere. Probably in someones attic in a box.... I am not researching any of your names, however, I am familiar with them all. My lines in Tippah County are Hawthorne, Richey, & Cowan, however, there were some marriages to Liddells, Purnells, & Williams that I would be happy to send to each of you if you would like. We have one Witherspoon in the line but that marriage occurred in Abbeville County, SC before the Mississippi Territory was opened for settlement.

Hi all, Hope your Thanksgiving was nice. After power shopping most of the day on Friday, I was able to walk and record and update the gravestones to include the newer Mt. Hebron graves in the cemetery records. The ones that have been added since 1980. It poured down rain all day yesterday and was a mucky mess so I didn't get to Harmony. If you would like to update a cemetery please contact me. Enjoy! Melissa

Since you are on the list I assume you know about the Tippah Co. MSGenWeb page. There are links from it to the Benton Co. page as well. Apparently you Gallion family lived in the part of Tippah County that became Benton in 1870. I found this in the Benton Co. Cemeteries which is online: Gallion, Miriam, , 05 Mar 1858, Pine Grove Baptist, age 48 wife of B. C. She is buried in Benton Co. in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery. >I was told that there was a land transaction dated 1857 between Bradacus C. >Gallion and another party. I would like to find this. This you will probably have to visit the Tippah Co. courthouse for. >Their son Jacob Gallion had a probate record of his estate in Tippah >County, Mississippi. This is said to list my 3rd Great Grandmother, Mary >Rainey. I would like to find this. If the death occurred before 1870 it would be in the Tippah Co. courthouse, after 1870 in the Ashland Courthouse. Benton Co. marriages are not online. I found this one in the Tippah Co. records which are online: GALLION, Jonas GRAY, Elizabeth A Oct 12 1858 1 17 G It is in Book 1 Page 17 at the Tippah Co. courthouse in Ripley. >Also, any marriage, death, cemetery records, etc... The Tippah Co. Death Notices book is online on the Tippah Co. page but I find no Gallions in it. I have a search engine on The Tippah Co. Confederate Page http://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw/ and find a John M. Gallion served in Co. A 2nd Miss. Infantry. There is a link there to another 2nd Miss. page and you can find John's service records online there. The above search engine has a pull down menu where you can pick the Tippah Co. Page to search. The Only Gallion I find there is the Marriage I mentioned above. Good luck. Fred

Hello, I am looking for help and information on my 4th Great Grandfather, Bradacus C. Gallion and his family. Bradacus C. Gallion was born abt. 1805 in Tennessee, and had lived in Tippah County, Mississippi between 1850-60. Bradacus' wife Miriam Gallion is buried somewhere in Tippah County, Mississippi and I would like to find out what cemetery she is in. I was told that there was a land transaction dated 1857 between Bradacus C. Gallion and another party. I would like to find this. Their son Jacob Gallion had a probate record of his estate in Tippah County, Mississippi. This is said to list my 3rd Great Grandmother, Mary Rainey. I would like to find this. Also, any marriage, death, cemetery records, etc... Any help and information about this family would be greatly appreciated.

>Try this one: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mstippah/index.html > Jack, Ms. White wrote her message on the message board which is gatewayed to this list. This list is not gatewayed to the message board so she will not see it. You can click on the link in her message to go to the message board to respond and she will see it. It is confusing. It seems to me the best thing to do is get on the list so you don't have to go to the message board but the best place to write a message is on the board because it stays there and people not on the list can respond. My personal opinion is it is stupid that the list is not gatewayed to the board. Fred
