    1. Re: [MSTIPPAH-L] Williams Family
    2. I knew about the list of Williams family children when I was growing up and several times I would asked my mother who they were. The only answer I ever got was that they were a family that some of my grandparents or great grandparents knew. I don't think I ever thought to ask my father about the list. If they were friends of my father's family they would have lived in Tippah County near the Providence or Ebenezer communites or possibly between Falkner and Ripley East of Hwy 15. My father's people migrated from McNairy County TN in 1840 to Tippah County and before that from SC. If they were friends of my mother's family they would have lived around New Albany along what is now US 78 to Memphis. I always thought they were friends of my father's family. Some of the numerals and letters were hard to distinguish so there may be some errors in what I sent. Sorry I can't be more help, but when you are looking for ancestors one little clue may make the difference.

Surnames: Bartlett, Williams, Herring, Ahearn, Curle, Curl Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iJB.2ACE/614.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi, I believe the Winnie Williams you mentioned is "possibly" the daughter of Edward Williams who came to Kentucky and settled around Fort Boonesborough. He came in 1779 and lived there 2 and 1/2 years before moving to Montgomery County,Ky. He was married to a Jemima (Anderson?). It is not known if Jemima was Edward's only wife, so I can't say if she could have been her mother or not. I base this assumption of "possibly" upon the fact that Daniel Williams, proven son of Edward Williams and Dudley Curle, proven son-in-law of Edward Williams witnessed Winnie Herring's marriage to Joshua Bartlett,1794 in Clark County, Ky. I believe she was married first to John Ahearn (which became Herring) in Madison County, Ky in 1788 . I do not have this actual marriage record, but the abstract. I have been told that on this record is Daniel Williams again, as bondsman. Daniel Williams had a daughter named Winnie. Winnie named a son Daniel, and a daughter Penelope, which was the n! ame of Dudley Curle's wife, daughter of Edward Williams. I have seen online that Penelope and Dudley had a son named Bartlett Curl, but don't have proof of this. It looks likely to me that she was Edward's daughter, but I have no positive proof yet. Do you know anything about this?
