The only way I know his name is off of his son, Ben F. Pollard JR's funeral record. I guess it could be wrong. We did find Sarah Grubbs on a 1880 Pike County census. She had remarried and was then Sarah Morgan.

F. Pollard in Grady Howell's book that is a compulation of the soldiers and sailors from MS. I did find a B. D. Pollard as a private in Co. H of the 2nd MS Cavalry. There were about 40 Pollards listed.
