She married John Covington on 31 Dec 1835 in Marion or Rankin Co., MS. I would like to find the parents or siblings of Courtney. It is possible that her father was Samuel Miles. He is found on an 1850 Clarke Co., MS census living next door to John and Courtney (Miles) Covington. It is also possible that Samuel (born SC) could be the father of a James Miles, born in Rankin or Marion Co., MS in 1821. I find census data to support the theory, but no proof. Samuel's parents are Harden "Hardy" Miles and Ann Patterson, all their children were born in SC. After Courtney's (Miles) death bet. 1870-1873, John Covington married (his sister-in-law?) Sarah (Thomas) Miles, formally married to James Miles. Thanks, Lisa
