King,born Dec. 17,1788 Adams Co. Ms.,son of Charles King.John married Dorothy"Dolly"Daughtry born April 13,1792 in Va.on September 21, 1809 Adams Co. Ms Dolly daughter of Enos Daughtry Sr..They lived in Adams, Wilkinson, Hinds,Madison and owned land in and may have lived in Rankin Co. Ms .John's will is in Rankin Co. Ms and he may have died there.His son in law was William Duncan McRae. In researching the King family(more than one in Rankin Co.) Comfort,McRae Connection I found the following deed. 3 Jan.1837 This indenture made and entered into the 3rd day of Jan 1837 between Samuel M. Puckett and Mary Jane his wife of the town of Brandon and John D. King of the County of Madison,State of Miss. The sum of $12,200.00 paid by John D. King to the said Pucket,A parcel of land lying in Rankin Co. Ms W/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 7 W/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 18 Township, 6 Range 4E N 1/2 of Section 13 NE 1/4 and E/2 of Section 14,Township 6 .Range 3E John D. King of Madison Co. Ms also bought 666 A more or less from Millinor Stratton of Rankin Co. Ms 16 May 1836 This land was in Sections 1 and 2,35 and 36 $12,900 payable 1 May 1838 7,500 " 1 May 1839(notes totaled $20,400. It included 2 horses,3 mules,2 oxen,1 ox wagon,stock of cattle,furniture,plantation tools,excluding one acre for church and graveyard.
