    1. Re: STAR, MISSISSIPPI & jerry here
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XJB.2ACE/557.2.2.2.1 Message Board Post: Hey Jerry! Didn't realize that posts to the board when out on the mailing list. I just discovered the mailing list and I've been reading the responses. Don't worry about rambling to me I've got numerous hours of interviews of some of the older Star residents. Mrs. Myrtle Finch (about 90), Dora Jean Mangum Whatley (about 75), Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bell (about 85), etc. I did talk with Sidney Garrett, he's moved back to Star after living in Colorado and he's trying to get me a copy of the old Garrett's store. I do have a picture of the bank stock, Post Office, Hotel, depot, etc. I noted your comment about Cherry and I kind of question that even though its in the USGS as an AKA, but Cherry and Star co-existed at least as Post Offices until the Cherry PO was closed and the records were sent to Monterey. I wondered why is they were the same that it was sent to the Star PO. Do/did you know DC, Denver, or Simp Dear? Denver and Simp have since passed on but DC still lives near the county line on the Star-Braxton Rd. (I think its call Rockwood Rd. at Star.) I saw him at Church last month while I was spending a week with Dad. I haven't had a chance to interview him yet. My connection is through the Hilton's that are related to the Barlow's, Glass's, Steen's, McCann's, Gray's, Phillip's, Loflin's, etc. If you want to rammble some more just email me directly if don't think others would be interested.
