Jones and wife Caroline Gilbert in nearby Hinds Co., MS, and their son Elijah E. Jones, who married M. Hellen Newsom? This Jones family lived around Utica. In reviewing some probate court minutes for Rankin Co. I see an Elijah E. Jones mentioned around 1850. I have not ordered anything yet, and I don't believe this is the same person as my Elijah Jones, since he was born in 1854, but am wondering if there is a connection. Doris
