It is close to Star, Plantation Shores and the Simpson county Line. What Smith's are you researching? My ancestors married in Rankin county in 1833. William and Zilpha Murrell Smith.. I know someone else who is researching another set of Smith's from Rankin Co., if you don't belong to my ancestor's you may belong to his.

The little cemetery is known as the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The church is now located on Hwy 25 in Flowood. I'm not sure where the church's exact location was when the little cemetery was started. Some of the land in the area of the airport was owned and farmed by the NEELY family in the mid 1800's. The land was acquired through BLM land grants. While doing STEEN research a few years ago, I was told that the STEEN graves there were relocated a few years back to this little cemetery at the airport from a family plot on private land a few miles south of Brandon This was the graves of Carroll Jeffries STEEN and his wife Margaret Ann NEELY and some of there kids as well as I remember. I think most of the families in the cemetery are allied families to the NEELYs. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 5:18 PM Subject: [MSRANKIN] Cemetery near Jackson International Airport > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Neely, Steen, Hicks, Paschal, Price > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XJB.2ACE/498 > > Message Board Post: > > There is a small cemetery that I have noticed on the property of the Jackson, Mississippi International Airport.
