Mora's parents were Ellis Burnham b. 1876, and Oler C. ? born 1876?( I think ) Why did Ellis name his son McLaurin? Was his wife a McLaurin? And where is this Ellis and his wife buried? Their daughter Martha married Issac M. JONES. Their daughter Elmira married Julius C. MULLINS. Their daughter Emma married W. A. BREWER. Their son William D AILLS was married to Sallie D. Farris and had 9 children in the Steen Creek, Florence, Rankin Co. area. The surnames connected to those 9 children are STUBBS, PHILLIPS, DURHAM and SOUTH. I'm working on compiling a list of AILLS who were in Louisiana and Missippi in the 1800s and need your help. I will gladly share what I have with you and can provide additional information to see if you are a descendant of Zaccheus and Anne Aills. He is Buried in the Puckett Cemetery by his first wife--they say his headstone reads 1897-1929(maybe because it was early in the new year?).

I was told to go to the Brandon, MS courthouse and search the circuit court records for any info regarding a trial. They are opened Mon-Fri, 8-5, so I couldn't go today. Also, I searched for an obit and couldn't find one. The article says he was survived by a wife and two children. I will look and see if a newspaper in Puckett has the obituary.

Connie's wife is still living at age 98. Her daughter has been giving her daughter information and she has been passing it on to me. The grand daughter is making a memory book for Mother's Day(suprise) and is amazed at the information she did not have. By having the dates from the cemetery it will make it easier to find death certificates. I have family all over OK. Give my best to your mother when you visit.

My Great Grandfather was Eugene Lafate McBride he was born 05 jan 1871 in Cato, Rankin, Mississippi. He died 20 july 1924 in Idabel, McCurtain, Oklahoma. He wife Lora Bell Lingo was born 01 feb 1875 in Erath County, Texas and Died 27 may 1857 in Canadian, Pittsburg, Oklahoma. Both are buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Grove, Oklahoma (near Idabel). They were married in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas. My 2nd Great Grandfather was William Bennett McBride born 6 dec 1828 in Florence, Rankin, Mississippi & Belinda Elizabeth Clack. They were married on 21 feb 1849 in Rankin County, Mississippi. They had at least 12 children. Nancy Susie McBride, William Dole McBride, Louisa McBride, Lewis McBride, Neida C. McBride, Laura McBride, Ann Mollie McBride, Eugene Lafate McBride, Eddie Edward Jackson McBride, A.A. (ada/ida) McBride.(i have these children in census records grand father says there should also have been) Janie McBride. My 3rd Great Grandfather was Dougald McBride who was born in Ireland married Nancy Easterling. They had at least the following children. Sarah McBride, Female McBride, William Bennett McBride, James McBride, Louisa Jersuha McBride, Joseph Joel Thomas McBride, Andrew Jackson McBride, Thomas Jefferson McBride, J. Madison McBride, and Nancy McBride. I would love to fill out some info on any of these families.

Burnham also travled with them for a while.He has several children living in the general area. I will try to see if I can find out some of their names. Guy Burnham was a cousin of my stepfather Pat "Red" Henry Boone,now deceased and they visited each others homes almost every week. My mother Lois H. Boone is living here in Edmond, Ok at Grace Living Center.When I visit her again I will ask her the names of Guy and Berta's children. I know one is a Minister. Mr. Montgomery was back in court one more time after the first appearance-he got off for being mentally imbalanced;maybe a newspaper story after the 23 Jan 1930 one. James Connie Medley had been married to a local girl, Mattie L.(izzie) Burnham and had two children. J.(ames) C.(onnie) and Hilda Medley. When Hilda was about 1 Mattie died and is buried in Puckett. Hilda went to live with her aunt, Winnie Bell Jones Hunter in Dyersburg,TN. Later J.C. went there too. Connie is buried next to Mattie Lizzie(could be Elizabeth) in Puckett. If you are able to find any more information/documents(have a copy of the 23 Jan 1930 newspaper story)and can make a hard copies I will be most happy to pay for them,postage,parking fees,ect. First child Edley Paul Steen was born in Tompkinsville then my Grandfather John Webb Steen was born in Krum, TX. James Garrett and Loretta Jane are buried in Jackson Cemetery in Krum. Loretta Jane had sisters named Bessie, Effie, Roxie, Maggie and Mary and brothers named Alexander and Sidney Stanton Stevens. Sidney is living with Loretta Jane and James Garrett Steen on 1900 Wise County, Texas census. Does any of this sound familiar to you.

Connie was shot in the head by J.B. Montgomery, age 78 of Puckett,MS. It was on the front page of the Brandon,MS paper 23 Jan 1930. His wife has a different verson of what happened. We would like to find his obit and any info about a trial if there was one. It seems that "tent shows" were very popular-would there be any ad or posters in the archives for Mr. Medley? He was a brother of my great grandfather and one of 11 children. Thanks so much for your offer to look.
