I did find the 1850 census for Choctaw, AL and J B and Charity are listed with some of this family. I am now trying to connect J. B. to Moses and Martha, but the records on the net do not show him as a son. I have written the address listed on the records for verification. This is one of the hardest families I have worked on to track down. JAJ Shoemaker (James Andrew Jackson), son of J B and Charity: Choctaw, AL 1850: Arkansas 1860, not found 1870; Leake, MS 1880; records burned 1890. Not found 1900; Lawrence, MS 1910; Leake, MS 1920. The other children are in households other than parents. What a mess. Elaine

Sorry to be so long in catching up to you. My uncle was Paul Davis and married to Emma (Tiny) Wilkins. Of course, they are both deceased now as you probably know already. Just thought I would let you know of this connection. Is there any way I can help? Best regards, Bill Davis Baton Rouge, LA [email protected]

I have Susan Davis married to unknown Robbins and with issue; Sam, Bunyan, Horny, Fanny, Singleton, Frankie, and Lizzie. No James B. as you have. I don't know Susan Davis' birth date but would guess sometime before 1815 and probably in VA. She lived and died an Rankin Co. Do you see any possibility that this Susan Davis Robbins could be that same as yours? Do you have further information on her? She would be the sister of my gg grandfather, George Washington Davis of Rankin Co. Thanks, Bill Davis [email protected]

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XJB.2ACE/525 Message Board Post: Greatest News since sliced bread!! Thanks to David Crosby we now have forms for submitting your records to the Mississippi Archives. These forms will make it so much easier for contributors to share their records with the MS Archives. They type in the information, click on submit and the .txt file is instantly formatted, created and mailed to the rootsweb directory and available to the rootsweb search engines at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/newsearch.htm within 48 hours. Most of these forms, with the exception of just a few, will allow the user, or the file managers to copy/paste the data into the forms. For anyone who has had a nightmare of reformatting a word document into ascii text file, you'll love this feature!! This database can be set to send a copy of files submitted to any of the county mailing lists (providing the list admin will put the forms on accept or give a subscriber email address). These forms have been used for almost 2 years in Alabama and Georgia and the results have been that contributors love them. It takes any guesswork out of their hands, the files are formatted with all pertinent information and submitted within the USGenWeb Archives policies. They can get immediate response by choosing to send a copy back to themselves and because of the "ease" of submitting through these forms the amount of sharing has at the very least doubled.. I hope you'll all be as excited as I am in having this new feature for the MSArchives and add a link to these forms on your pages. There are two servers so that if for any reason one is not working the other will work as a back up. These are at http://www.genrecords.org/msfiles and http://www.genrecords.net/msfiles/ I hope you'll all join me in welcoming this new addition for MSArchives and promote this new and efficient way of helping to get genealogical records online. If anyone has any questions about these forms they can send them to Debra Crosby at [email protected] or David Crosby (creator) at [email protected] Ann Allen Geoghegan USGenWeb Archives - Mississippi Project Coordinator
