Basil G. Puckett was listed in Rankin Co. in the 1840 and 1850 federal censuses and in numerous deeds. Elias B. Puckett also bought and sold property in Rankin Co. I think he appeared in the 1840 census. Claiborne Co. MS Deed Book H, p.55 -January 24, 1825(my expansion and spelling) William H Puckett, Deed of Gift, Brothers & Sisters, To all whom it may concern Know ye that for the love and esteem I bear to my Brothers and Sisters hereafter named and whereas I am about to leave the family to do business for Wm R(?) McCalpin of Port Gibson I have a wish and desire to give something to the support of the family so as to have them raised all together and whereas old age has overtaken my father J(ames) D. Puckett and my mother being dec(eased)…. The deed goes on to list Basil G., James M., Elias B., Sidney B.(D, I think), Catherine K., Rody B., Parmenas(?) B. Does anyone have knowledge about these people or any interest in them? Not listed but probable sister is Rachel P. A possible other relative is Douglas Charles Puckett. I will give marriage info next post.

    3. Great! Thanks so much. This is really helpful. The only other thing I have at this point, is the marriage of Cleo's sister, Mary Wells. If I had been thinking, I should have provided that when I provided Cleo data. I have no records on Mary Wells except she lived in Rankin and Hinds Counties with her father, Jeff Wells, in 1900 and 1910. I have no record/trace of her after 1910. I have heard that she married a fellow named Sanders sometime after 1910, but don't know where. Maybe Hinds County as her sister did? I've also heard that she lived and died in Kasciusko, MS. So, if you happen to be looking at the Hinds County marriages, maybe you can check for her there. Sorry of the long note. And again, thanks for the help.
