What I have on these Allbrittons: Amos Allbritton was a son of Elisha & Mary "Polly" Bridges Allbritton; Elisha was a brother to my John (Elizabeth Benton) Allbritton of old Westville, Simpson County and a son of George (Lydia Pettit) Allbritton. I show Amos with 9 children but have little information on who they married. My grandmother (Myrna Lee Allbritton Robinson) maintained we were related to Kellys and Harpers but I never knew just how. I do have a huge book done by Bobby Albritton that traces the family way back! It shows the following: Mattie Lucinda (Martha) Allbritton, b. 11 Jan 1868, Simpson Co, d. 28 Nov 1952, Oak Grove, LA, m. Robert Lee Harper (b. abt 1866, MS), 13 Nov 1888, MS Polly Rebecca Allbritton, b. 20 Jan 1873, Simpson Co, d. Simpson Co, m. Willey Harper (b. abt 1870, MS), 11 Nov 1897, Simpson Co Sarah Frances Allbritton, b. 19 May 1878, Simpson Co, d. 5 Dec 1962, Star, MS, m. Re; Mary Harper. Found this entry in the Rankin County Cemetery Records 1824-1980. I have no PROOF that this is your Mary Harper, but will send the info to you anyway. POPLAR SPRINGS CEMETERY Located 8 miles SW of Florence, MS.....Hwy 40 South and in the general area of the other burials I sent. HARPER, MARY 1872-1940 She is the only HARPER with stone/marker buried in this cemetery. NOTE: I did not find a listing for a Rebecca Harper. A check of the marriage records in SIMPSON OR RANKIN COUNTY would shed more definite information as to whom these two ladies married. Hopefully, I have been some help to you. We can come up with the money but how much does it take to do this and how should the money be handled? Bank turst? Other? Our younger generation does not have the concern and seeming responsibility to undertake personal upkeep as has been done over the past 100+ years.
