Annice, Thanks for responding to my query about the surname Bishop. Two Bishop ladies married into my Yerby family. John C. Yerby, b. 1852, married on June 11, 1874 in Oktibbeha Co. MS to Miss M. V. (Vincy) Bishop, b. 1855. John C. was the s/o Enoch, Sr. and Narcisss Burroughs Yerby. J. S. Yerby, (Jr.), married on Dec. 17, 1897 in Webster Co., MS to Lona Bishop. Consent for the marriage given by their fathers,J.S. Yerby, (Sr.) and Jeff Bishop. J. S. Yerby, (Sr.) was probably the s/o Enoch, Sr. and Narcissa Burroughs Yerby, Although, their son was listed on the 1850 Tuscaloosa Co., AL census as James B. Yerby, age 1 year old. I believe that J.S. Yerby, Sr. and James B. Yerby may be the same person. If M. Vincy Bishop Yerby or Lona Bishop Yerby are listed in any of your Bishop families, I would be grateful for info about their families.
