Responding to the roll call listing Pilcher and Simpson............. I would like to confirm some information about Sarah Jane Pilcher. I don't have all my notes in front of me now, but I just can't wait to ask this. Did Sarah Jane marry William Hillsman "Billy" Heard? I believe this marriage occurred about 1908 after her first husband, George W. Simpson died. (Billy would have been about 62 at the time of the marriage.) Billy Heard and wife Sarah Jane are buried at Shady Grove Cemetery. Is this the right Sarah Jane? I am researching all the Heards in Pontotoc County (as well as Lee and Lafayette). Billy Heard is a first cousin to my grandfather, Stephen Heard. Would like to share more detail later. Thanks. Yes, Sarah Jane is buried between her two husbands in Shady Grove, who were Billy Heard & George Washington Simpson.
