    3. Hi everyone, In addition to the guidelines that are implemented effective tonight, I've also made some in-house administrative changes you'll probably notice: 1. Taglines. I've been through the list archives and see that there haven't been taglines on this list for quite some time. We have them again. Six rotating taglines will tell you how to unsub the list, how to reach me, and other list helps. You'll begin seeing them tonight. 2. Where replies once went to the sender of a message, they now go to the list. Why? This is a group of 375 people... 375! Yet, when I look at the archives, I see the last 16 months' message totals averaging out to only 16 messages a month. Something is wrong with this picture... The list is too quiet, and with your participation I'd like to change that. Responses are conceivably going to someone offlist that might benefit several or even many of you. Discussion is imperative if you're to find your lines. If you wish to respond directly to someone, all you'll need to do is erase the "TO" line and TYPE IN the person's email address. 3. Digests are now set to be sent every 12 hours or once they reach 43,200 bytes. This will help you receive messages much faster. 4. The largest message that can be sent to the list is now 20,000 bytes ~ about 5 pages worth of material. This is up from 10,000 bytes. I noticed in the archives that there was a surname roll call earlier this month, but I didn't see anyone making connections. Hopefully, we can get that changed, too. :) Every Sunday all of my surname lists receive the Sunday Morning Coffee, a newsletter of sorts that I put out. It's my way of having coffee with everyone on my lists. However, my city, state and county lists don't receive it unless the individuals wish to. Here's your opportunity... The Sunday Morning Coffee encompasses social history, how-to's or just general topics geared toward genealogy, history, and/or geography. There may even be a short story, again geared toward our love of family history. No specific surname or region is discussed. It's not a "reply to" list, and normally only one message per week will come to you, that being the newsletter on Sunday morning. If you're interested you need to send an email to <SundayCoffee-subscribe@topica.com>, and plan to join me for coffee on Sunday! :) I guess that's it. Questions? Comments? Send them to me at <ladyaudris@earthlink.net>. Colleen

    3. Gene, What Johnson line are you researching in Pontotoc County? I am a descendent of Levi B. Johnson b. December 1812 in NC, d. 12 June 1902 in Pontotoc Co. and his wife, Sophia Bray through their son, Levi Bluford Johnson b. 11 April 1854 in MS. The elder Levi B. Johnson had a brother, James T. Johnson, who lived in Pontotoc County also. If these names sound familiar, let me know. Mary K. 3. I have a Johnson connection in Pontotoc Co.: Randolph Johnson, born in about 1800 - somewhere in Tennessee, we think, and wife, Elizabeth (Ashby) Johnson, also born about 1800. They were previously in Jefferson Co., AL, Pickens Co., AL, and then on to Pontotoc. I believe he had a brother named Rodolphus or Rudolphus and one named George Cunningham Johnson. One of Randolph's sons - Joseph Abner (known as "Joab") Johnson, born in about 1837 in Jefferson Co., AL, was my great grandfather. He married Mary Undine Brown in July of 1858. Then they moved south to Neshoba Co., MS. Do we have a connection? Sue (Johnson) Howard
